No fees to be charged for restoring documents lost due to disasters

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President "On additional measures for social protection of citizens affected by emergencies" was adopted.
In accordance with the resolution, starting from 1 January 2021, individuals are exempt from paying state duties and fees when restoring documents that are lost or become unusable as a result of natural and man-made emergencies, including domestic disasters (disasters).
Confirmation of the fact of an emergency, if necessary, is made on the basis of a request from a state body on the basis of:
- a certificate issued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations - on the territory of Uzbekistan;
- a certificate issued and legalized by authorized departments of foreign states, or with an apostille affixed, or issued in accordance with international treaties, - on the territory of foreign states.
Payments and other actual expenses not collected for the restoration of documents as a result of disasters on the territory of Uzbekistan, in cases where there are persons (organizations) guilty of the occurrence of these circumstances, are subsequently recovered from the guilty by way of recourse.
In respect of individuals whose documents are lost or become unusable as a result of disasters, through no fault of these persons, no punishment is applied.
