Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 September and 1 October 2020, the Ministry of Preschool Education (MDO) will hold a telethon dedicated to the third anniversary of the establishment of the ministry. As part of the event, a charity event from the Center for Youth and Children with Disabilities Mehrli qo-'llar ("Good Hands") will be held.
During the telethon, MDO will show how the preschool education system has changed in each region of Uzbekistan, and will also hold teleconferences with regional departments and the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
An important block of the event will be the topic of preschool education for children with special needs. The Center for Youth and Children with Disabilities will join the telethon. Within the framework of the Mehrli qo'llar ("Good Hands") project, the Center will collect funds for the Mehr ("Good") charity event. The money will be used to purchase equipment and supplies for children with disabilities: verticalizers, functional chairs, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
“The telethon is timed to coincide with two dates at once - the third anniversary of the Ministry of Preschool Education and the Day of the Teacher and Tutor. We would like to draw special attention to the issue of raising children, for whom preschool education and the help of mentors are of paramount importance. These are pupils with disabilities. Our ministry is making steps towards inclusion: a combined preschool educational institution has been opened in Tashkent, which is attended by both healthy children and children with mental retardation. For the second year in a row, the first multidisciplinary specialized preschool educational institution with the Imkon rehabilitation center has been successfully operating in Nukus; soon its analogues will appear in the Tashkent and Kashkadarya regions. In 148 multidisciplinary specialized preschool institutions throughout the republic, pupils with disabilities are provided with comprehensive medical and pedagogical assistance,” said Minister of Preschool Education Agrippina Shin.
Art workers, writers, gifted children, teachers and employees of the preschool education system will also take part in the telethon.
