Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 September 2020, a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and as part of ministries, departments, industry associations and commercial banks went to Tashkent region to study the current state and develop practical measures to increase the level of socio-economic development of Pskent and Akhangaran districts.
In Pskent district, the responsible leaders were tasked with taking an inventory of infrastructure and social projects being implemented and planned for implementation in 2020, as well as projects in the field of housing construction and urban improvement, to identify problematic issues that hinder their high-quality and timely implementation and to take prompt measures to solving existing problems.
Special attention was paid to the current state of implementation of investment projects in various sectors of industry and agriculture - the need to intensify direct work with entrepreneurs in order to provide targeted support to each exporter and initiator of investment projects was indicated.
It was instructed to provide targeted assignment of ministries, departments and commercial banks to specific projects with the development of network schedules and indication of responsible executors in order to complete the implementation and commissioning of the above projects as soon as possible.
In Akhangaran district, the work of the group was divided into 8 key areas, covering the spheres of industry, agriculture, investment, export, housing and infrastructure construction, social development and employment of the population, for each of which separate subgroups were formed as part of the heads of the relevant ministries, departments, commercial banks and local authorities.
The activities of these subgroups will also be aimed at developing new proposals and projects aimed at increasing industrial production and exports, supporting entrepreneurship, improving local infrastructure, developing health care, education, culture and sports, ensuring employment by establishing cooperation, including through creating conditions for home work.
It was pointed out the need to focus on the most promising industries - the so-called “growth points” in order to increase the efficiency of using the economic potential of these regions.
At the same time, the key principle of the work will be a targeted approach - all problematic issues will be worked out individually with each entrepreneur, exporting enterprise, organization of the service sector, as well as at the level of individual makhallas, socially vulnerable families (included in the "Iron Notebook" ), representatives of unemployed youth and women ("Youth notebook", "Women's notebook") in order to provide effective support by creating additional jobs and sources of income.
Monitoring of the work carried out in Pskent and Akhangaran districts will be carried out on an ongoing basis by specially created headquarters under the coordination of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. The performance reports of the formed subgroups will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
