Uzbek President, First Kazakh President hold a working meeting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 September, a working meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.
At the suggestion of the Kazakh side, the meeting was held in the border town of Saryagash, Turkestan region.
The leaders of the two countries discussed the current state and prospects of the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership, exchanged views on topical regional and international issues.
Particular attention was paid to continuing close coordination and effective interaction at the government level in order to quickly overcome the consequences of the global spread of coronavirus infection.
The importance of further creating favorable conditions for increasing the volume of mutual trade and achieving agreed parameters of trade, facilitating the practical implementation of priority cooperation projects in industry, energy, agriculture and transport within the framework of the adopted joint Roadmap, supporting interregional contacts and humanitarian exchanges was noted.
The issues of promoting regional partnership were also touched upon, including within the framework of agreements following the second Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held in November last year in Tashkent.
In addition, the main directions of mutually beneficial cooperation within the CIS were considered.
During the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to strengthening the bonds of good-neighborliness and all-round ties between the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The meeting took place in a traditionally open and friendly atmosphere.
