Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For those wishing to work for themselves, while having work experience and pension contributions, a new format of legal employment is available - in the status of “self-employed person”.
On 1 July, a simplified registration procedure was launched for self-employed people, which did not require visits to tax authorities. It is enough to download the SOLIQ application and use the “Self-employed persons” tab. Remote registration is also available on the STC Portal of State Electronic Tax Services.
According to the press service of the State Oil Company, as of 30 July 2020, the total number of self-employed persons was 201,283. Three leaders in terms of regions - Samarkand, Namangan and Bukhara regions
Out of 67 types of activities available for self-employed persons in the ICT field (activities in social networks, development of software, mobile applications and websites, creation and processing of text) - 2,995 are self-employed.
Popular are household services (hairdressing, manicure, cosmetology, pedicure, washing and ironing at home, making keys, sewing shoes, repairing and painting, etc.). This direction employs 54,932 people.
Services in the field of agriculture (cattle grazing and care, assistance to owners of household plots for planting and caring for agricultural crops) - 42 947 self-employed;
Services in the industrial sphere (wooden architecture, plumbing, electrical installation, collection of waste paper, plastic, scrap metal, etc.) - 34,768 self-employed;
Social services (tutoring at home, babysitting and care, housekeeping, cleaning of premises, traditional medicine and others) - 33 837 self-employed.
Production of consumer goods and services (sale of bread, popcorn at home, ice cream, salads, soft drinks, ayran, gudzhi and trade in agricultural products in dekhkan markets) - 31 788 self-employed;
A reminder of the benefits of self-employment:
- your income from work activities is not subject to income tax;
- social tax is paid once a year (the minimum amount for 2020 is 111,500 soums);
- if the activities of self-employed persons are engaged in family businesses with at least three members, then they pay turnover tax at a rate reduced by 50%.
