Results of the contest "Unique dishes of Uzbekistan" announced
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to further increase the potential of gastronomic tourism in the country, to restore recipes for lost unique dishes and present them to the world, the State Committee for Tourism Development and the Association of Gastronomic Tourism announced a competition “Unique dishes of Uzbekistan”.
In total, 37 people took part in the competition with their recipes, including 2 from Andijan region, 3 from Ferghana region, 1 from Jizzakh region, 2 from Navoi region, 1 from Kashkadarya region, 4 from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 4 from Samarkand region, 3 from Syrdarya region, 2 from Surkhandarya region 4 from Khorezm region, 4 from the Tashkent region and 7 participants from the city of Tashkent.
Each submission was carefully reviewed by a panel of experts. Initially, 15 materials were selected from them, and then 7 participants went to the final round.
Contest materials were evaluated anonymously based on criteria such as originality and antiquity of the presented recipes, the availability of interesting information and facts about the history of the recipe, as well as full compliance with the rules of the competition.
Following the results of the competition, the following participants were determined as winners: 1st place: Ruziboev Azamat 2nd place: Khozhakulov Anvar 3rd place: Sherbekova Nozimabonu.
The winners will be awarded with cash prizes in the amount of 5,000,000 (five million), 3,000,000 (three million) and 2,000,000 (two million) soums. Selected recipes are included in the book “Unique dishes of Uzbekistan” along with the name of the participant. The book will be translated into several foreign languages.
