Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 June 2020, a conversation took place in the form of a video dialogue between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Oliy Majlis, co-chair of the inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Sadik Safoev with the vice speaker of the Jokorg Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, co-chair of this inter-parliamentary commission Mirlan Bakirov. This was reported by the Senate Information Service of the Oliy Majlis.
During the conversation, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, an exchange of views took place regarding the development of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations.
It was noted that thanks to the policies pursued by the leaders of the two countries and the personal active participation of the President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev, bilateral cooperation has risen to a qualitatively new level. The achieved new level of cooperation, especially in the context of the pandemic, was clearly manifested thanks to the mutual assistance provided.
At the same time, serious concern was raised in connection with the recent events on the border of the two states.
It was emphasized that in such a situation, parliamentarians should not be aloof. They should, together with the government and local representative authorities, actively participate in providing comprehensive assistance and strengthening stability in the border regions.
In this regard, it was proposed that a regular meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation be held in the near future.
In turn, the vice speaker of the Kyrgyz parliament, co-chair of the inter-parliamentary cooperation commission M. Bakirov emphasized that he appreciates and appreciates the current state of bilateral relations. “We must, like the apple of our eye, protect our cooperation, filled with new meaning and content,” he said.
In addition, M. Bakirov, speaking about the incident, supported the importance of using the resources of parliamentary diplomacy and local representative authorities.
The parties noted that the inter-parliamentary dialogue between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan serves to build confidence between the peoples of the two countries.
At the end of the conversation, the parties expressed readiness to continue a regular dialogue on the development of cooperation between the two countries.
