Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By a decision of the Supreme Court from 20 March 2020, “On Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus Infection in Courts of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the courts of the country suspended citizens and held trials and hearings. Now the rules have changed depending on the color of the zone, according to the Telegram channel of the Supreme Court.
Starting from 8 May, by decision of the Republican Special Commission for the preparation of a program of measures to prevent the entry and spread of coronavirus, the republic has been divided into zones. In this regard, the above decision of the Supreme Court was amended.
This allows citizens to be admitted to courts located in the green zones, and applications received by courts located in the red and yellow zones are electronically or by mail.
The courts of the "red" zone are considering cases that require an immediate decision, in particular:
- violation of the rules in the fight against epidemics, petty hooliganism with the refusal to comply with the legal requirements of the employees of the internal affairs bodies and related to other administrative offenses;
- application of a preventive measure in the form of detention, extension, amendment or termination of the period of detention;
- hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital, in a specialized department of a tuberculosis institution in an involuntary manner or extension of hospitalization;
- in cases of non-enforcement of court decisions (for example, on the payment of alimony and others).
Courts located in the "green" and "yellow" zones can make decisions on all cases in the prescribed manner.
In all courts (regardless of zones):
- the judge and specialists must maintain a social distance (2 meters), wear medical masks and use antiseptic agents;
- all public events (training seminars, conferences, etc.) should be canceled, with the exception of those related to judicial activity and held in the mode of video conferencing;
- entrances to buildings should be equipped with pyrometers and antiseptic agents, which should be applied to every citizen entering the court (at a temperature of ° C 37 and above - entry is prohibited).
It is strictly forbidden to stay in the courthouse of citizens who are not participants in the trial.
