Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Three months, the modern incubator for newborns provided by the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare helps to increase the knowledge and skills of Karshi neonatologists. This was reported by the press service of the National Chamber of Innovative Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Since 2 March, this innovative equipment installed in the regional Perinatal Center has helped seven babies come out with a diagnosis of prematurity of various degrees.
This initiative was the first step in the implementation of a large-scale project of the National Chamber, the tasks of which are the development by health professionals, especially in the regions, of advanced techniques and the most modern equipment. At the same time, it is planned to apply various approaches, including the direct use of such equipment, the presence of which in neonatology is an important condition for reducing child mortality.
A variety of partners are involved in the implementation of the project - from clinics and research institutions to investors and manufacturers. This time, the partner of the National Chamber was Medical Quality Service, which launched in Tashkent the release of EcoLa 3000 incubators for nursing newborns according to European quality standards. Babies who were born prematurely for survival must create a comfortable and safe microenvironment. This role is played by incubators, the use of which allows you to maintain the body temperature of newborns, the necessary humidity and oxygen level around the baby.
As the head of the company, Vidmantas Kachkus, noted during the working meeting, the new generation equipment eliminates the so-called “human factor” as much as possible by independently adjusting the internal temperature, including by comparing the difference between the ambient and installation temperature and accordingly changing the heating power.
The modern electronic "filling" of the incubator allows you to control the temperature of each part, which gives a new level of temperature control system. Temperature variability is minimized to 0.2 ° C, which, according to practice, is today an achievement.
However, it is not enough to perfect the technique, it is necessary that specialists skillfully use its capabilities. This determines the choice of the National Chamber at each stage of the project - to create conditions for health professionals to master the next stage of professional knowledge and skills that are already used in different countries. In the field of obstetric care and nursing, this is especially important.
“The results of professionalism of neonatologists in the use of modern equipment are expressed, first of all, in that it is impossible to overestimate the saved lives of children and the preservation of their health. Special attention is always paid to this by the leadership of our country and its citizens, ”said Rovshan Izamov, chairman of the National Chamber of Innovative Health, during a meeting with project partners.
A pilot project has been launched in Kashkadarya region, as advanced training of regional health professionals is one of the priorities of the National Chamber. Each region has its territorial units that oversee the progress of projects in their regions.
In particular, the data on the use of the incubator in Karshi were analyzed by the director of the regional division of the National Chamber, Shoira Nabiyeva. According to the analysis, of the seven infants who were helped by the incubator, three were diagnosed with prematurity of grade 3, and each such case is associated with a greater risk for the survival of the child.
From 31 March to 14 - 15 April, the newborn son Zulfizar Rajabova was in incubator with such a diagnosis. The baby was born with a weight of 970 grams and a height of 34 centimeters. Then he was transferred to the neonatal pathology department, and on April 17 he was discharged home in satisfactory condition with a weight of 1 kilogram 450 grams. Further, such kids are already being watched by doctors at the place of residence.
For three months of work, a modern incubator helped out and the twin girls whom Nargiza Kodirova gave birth in May. One of the babies was diagnosed with prematurity of the second degree, in the other - of the first degree.
Modern equipment, of course, provides great opportunities. However, no matter how perfect the new generation medical equipment is, it will work successfully only in the hands of professionals who understand how to use all its advantages. The project of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan is aimed at increasing such professionalism.
The advantages of the modern incubator were able to be evaluated in practice by experts led by the head of the neonatal intensive care unit of the Kashkadarya regional Perinatal Center, neonatologist Radha Kurbanova.
“In children born prematurely, there are 3 main problems: insufficient ability to keep warm, nutrition problems, high risk of diseases, especially infections,” she notes. - Children born as a result of preterm birth, who have low weight and immaturity of the body systems, are considered premature. Such babies, whose body weight is more than 500 g and after 22 weeks of gestation, are considered viable subject to timely medical supervision, being in an incubator and special care in which perinatal mortality can be reduced.”
