Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- To date, with the assistance of the diplomatic and consular missions of Uzbekistan in Russia, 8,369 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been organized to be taken out from the territory of the Russian Federation, Dunyo reports.
In order to support fellow citizens located on the territory of Russia, the diplomatic missions of our country are constantly working to provide them with financial, medical and food assistance.
In particular, the Embassy of Uzbekistan launched the Mehr project, which provides for the payment of one-time financial assistance to fellow citizens in Russia who find themselves in a difficult situation due to the introduction of quarantine and restrictive measures due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
Since the launch of the campaign, 1,627 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan who are in all federal districts of Russia and find themselves in difficult material conditions have become recipients of financial assistance under the Mehr project.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the city of St. Petersburg paid for accommodation in a hostel of 41 compatriots for one month.
Through the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, financial expenses in the amount of 260 thousand rubles related to meals and transfer of 1,200 citizens of Uzbekistan to the border of Kazakhstan are covered. For the organization of further transportation of fellow citizens through the territory of Kazakhstan, 65 thousand US dollars were transferred to our country.
Over the past two months, more than 700 families who applied to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow in connection with difficult material conditions were provided with food packages.
Over 1,500 Uzbek students studying in Russian universities are also provided with food.
In addition, the “# Thank you!” Campaign was launched, within the framework of which distribution of free hot meals was arranged among labor migrants and students from Uzbekistan, as well as medical workers working in the “red zones”, that is, directly working with people who have confirmed coronavirus infection COVID-19.
The diplomatic and consular missions of Uzbekistan in Russia continue to work actively to support fellow citizens in this country.
As of 3 June, 432 thousand 277 cases of coronavirus disease were registered in Russia, including 8536 new ones detected in the last day. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 195 thousand 957 people have recovered. Lethal outcomes - 5215.
