Agreement on cooperation in combating illegal migration between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan enters into force

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 May 2020, an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in combating illegal migration entered into force. The document was signed on 15 April 2019 during the state visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan.
The document envisages the interaction of the parties in the fight against illegal migration, the identification and registration of persons illegally residing in the territory of two states.
Cooperation under this Agreement is carried out on the basis of requests from an interested party for assistance.
In order to carry out an effective fight against illegal migration, the exchange of information and experience, the training and professional development of employees of the parties, the implementation of scientific research, as well as the organization of joint operational and preventive measures are also stipulated.
