Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 27 March 2020, at the construction site of the GTL plant in Kashkadarya region, as part of the investment project "Production of synthetic liquid fuels based on purified methane of the Shurtan Mining and Chemical Combine", the construction of the railway infrastructure facilities was launched. This was reported by the press center of Uzbekistan GTL.
According to the project, a total of more than 11 km of railway tracks will be built, of which 6.5 km in the internal territory of the plant, as well as 4 flyovers, which will serve up to 8 tank cars at a time and receive up to 32 tank cars.
The construction of the railway infrastructure is carried out by professionals in their field - specialists from Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC, commissioned by Shurtansky Mining and Chemical Combine LLC, with the active assistance of Uzbekistan GTL specialists and Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
As of 30 March, 1.6 km of inland railways had already been built.
The created railway infrastructure will allow annually shipping up to 1.5 million tons of high-quality and environmentally friendly petroleum products to the domestic market and export from the Uzbekistan GTL plant under the Oltin Yo’l GTL brand.
Despite the current epidemiological situation in Uzbekistan and in the world, the construction of the region’s largest synthetic liquid fuel plant continues at an active pace, with all necessary preventive measures taken to protect the life and health of each employee involved in this strategically important project.
