Volume of construction work in Uzbekistan makes up 4.44 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January of this year, the volume of construction work in the Republic of Uzbekistan made up 4.44 trillion soums, the growth rate compared to January 2019 reached 7.7%, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The volume of construction work is based on the composition of work carried out by large construction organizations, small enterprises and microfirms, as well as informal sector.
Carried out construction work is divided into state and non-state ownership organizations.
Construction works by type of economic activity include construction of buildings and structures, construction of civil facilities and specialized construction works.
In January of this year, the total volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations amounted to 482.1 billion soums. Compared to January 2019, construction works increased by 5.5%, and their share in the total volume decreased by 0.3% amounting to 10.8%.
The volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms increased significantly compared to other organizations in January 2020, whose share amounted to 69.2% of the total, which is 1.2% more compared to January 2019. Along with this, the volume of construction work they completed amounted to 3.07 trillion soums and, compared to January 2019, the growth rate reached 9.2%.
The share of construction work in the informal sector decreased by 0.9 percentage points and, compared to the same period in 2019, amounted to 20.0%, or 887.4 billion soums, the growth rate reached 103.9% of January 2019.
Construction work in the republic, performed by state organizations, amounted to 213.3 billion soums, the growth rate reached 14.5% compared to January 2019. The volume of construction work carried out by non-state organizations amounted to 4.22 trillion soums, the growth rate reached 7.4%, their share is 4.8% and 95.2%, respectively.
Most of the construction work was carried out in January 2020 accounted for the construction of new buildings and structures, 70.7% of the total volume of construction work, or 3.14 trillion soums, were aimed at creating new production capacities in the field of economy, housing and communal services and other social objects.
Large construction organizations completed construction work on new construction worth 397.0 billion soums, or 82.4% of their total volume.
Small enterprises and micro-firms completed construction work on new construction in the amount of 1.97 trillion soums, or 64.4% of their total volume.
In the informal sector, construction work on new construction was completed worth 763.6 billion soums, or 86.1% of their total volume.
The share in the total volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations in the structure of construction work on the construction of buildings and structures amounted to 6.1% and, compared with January 2019, decreased by 0.4% points.
The share of small enterprises and micro-firms in this type of activity, compared to January 2019, increased by 2.4% and amounted to 65.4%.
The share of the informal sector, compared with January 2019, decreased by 2.0% and amounted to 28.5%. The share of the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations on the construction of civil facilities amounted to 34.6% and increased by 6.8% compared to January 2019.
Also, the share of small enterprises and microfirms amounted to 65.0% (a decrease of 5.3%), and, accordingly, the share of the informal sector reached 0.4% (a decrease of 1.5%).
In the volume of specialized construction work, the share of large contractors decreased by 4.1 percentage points and amounted to 10.1%, which means that the share of small enterprises and microfirms now accounts for 89.9% (increased by 4.1 percentage points).
