A contest “Uzbekistan through the eyes of Pakistani children” takes place in Pakistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad has announced the results of a drawing competition on the theme “Uzbekistan through the eyes of Pakistani children,” Dunyo news agency reported.
The main purpose of the event was to popularize among the children and Pakistani youth the historical and cultural heritage of great Uzbek thinkers, including representatives of the Baburid dynasty, as well as promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
More than 100 children’s drawings were submitted to the court of visitors to the Internet resources of our diplomatic mission, for which more than 10 thousand people voted.
The main prize of the competition was awarded to Yekartirina Davarzani (8 years old), Aribakh Basit (12 years old) and Amal Beshinbaeva (13 years old) took second and third places respectively.
According to the vice president of the Association of Private Artists Robia Zakir, such cultural events can become a driver of deepening Pakistani-Uzbek relations, primarily in the field of cultural and humanitarian sphere. The competition awakens a keen interest in Uzbekistan among Pakistani youth.
Participants of the event noted that the competition held by the Uzbek diplomatic mission in Islamabad not only allowed Pakistanis to get acquainted with the unique history, culture and architecture of the republic, but also motivated many, especially young people, to start studying modern Uzbekistan, the country’s socio-political and socio-economic reforms.
This action received a wide response and was widely covered by leading Pakistani media.
