Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A business forum was held in the Indian city of Ahmedabad (Gujarat state) with the participation of government and business circles of the state, as well as a multisectoral delegation of Uzbekistan, Dunyo reported.
The Uzbek delegation included Minister of Innovation Development I. Abdurakhmanov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry A. Ikramov, First Deputy Minister of Health B. Yusupaliev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture S. Khojaev, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry S. Kariev, Deputy khokims of Andijan , Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani emphasized the dynamic nature of the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and India. He called on the business community of the state to take advantage of the wide investment opportunities that Uzbekistan offers to foreign investors.
- We will develop our interaction with the Uzbek side. “There are great prospects for deepening cooperation in such areas as pharmaceuticals, the textile industry, agriculture, the automotive industry, ICT and education,” V. Rupani said.
The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov in his presentation informed the participants in detail about the conditions created in Uzbekistan for the activities of foreign investors, as well as the active efforts made in the field of comprehensive development of entrepreneurship.
Indian entrepreneurs received answers to all their questions.
Within the framework of the business forum, B2B meetings were held with the participation of Uzbek and Indian companies, and a number of investment and trade agreements were signed.
In October 2019, a representative delegation from India, led by the chief minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, visited Andijan region and took part in Open Andijan International Investment Forum. The Indian delegation also visited Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, where business meetings were held.
