Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 December, a delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, met with a number of leading Japanese companies: K. Ota, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Mitsubushi Corporation, and Senior Vice-President K.Terasawa, President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and T. Akimoto, Managing Director of Sumitomo Corporation.
Cooperation with one of the leading Japanese industrial holdings Mitsubishi is characterized by increased dynamics, scale and significance for the intensive development of promising sectors of the national economy.
So, the development of agreements envisaging the participation of Mitsubishi Corporation in the implementation of a number of large projects in the energy and petrochemical industries, including through public-private partnerships, is nearing the final phase. In addition, they discussed prospects for attracting company resources for the implementation of new ambitious initiatives for the construction of railway and transport and logistics infrastructure.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is already participating in the construction of a high-tech production of ammonia and urea - the next meeting with the company’s management allowed us to work out a number of existing practical issues related to the implementation of the project, discuss possible solutions and develop an algorithm for further interaction.
In an interview with the management of Sumitomo Corporation, partnership opportunities were discussed for implementing a number of projects to modernize and manage regional airports, create industrial and transport and logistics infrastructure, and build solar, wind and thermal power plants.
In addition, prospects for technical cooperation on the development of pre-project proposals (Pre-FEED projects) were considered.
Following the talks, the parties assured each other of their firm intentions to intensify joint work in order to accelerate the elaboration of the technical and financial details of the agreements and the formation of specific agreements for signing during the planned visit to Japan at the highest level.
