Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 November 2019, a meeting of the Uzbek-Kazakh interagency Coordination Working Group was held in Tashkent, chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Colonel A.A. Tashpulatov and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Colonel Police A.R. Zapparov.
During the meeting, issues of the current state and future prospects of the activities of the divisions of the two countries on the exchange of information in the fight against terrorism, extremism and illegal migration, as well as issues of cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the area of operational-search activities were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a protocol providing for measures aimed at developing cooperation between the border police of the two countries, as well as a plan for joint operational and preventive measures to combat crime for 2020-2021.
In general, the meeting was held in an open dialogue format and in a constructive spirit. Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue working contacts for the prompt and effective resolution of emerging issues.
During the visit, the Kazakh delegation got acquainted with the ongoing reforms in the law enforcement sector in Uzbekistan, in particular with the updated units of the Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs and the Samarkand Region Internal Affairs Directorate in the areas of public safety, crime prevention and crime prevention, as well as tourism security.
