Quvasay and Ruyenoy established twin-city relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 November 2019, a memorandum on the establishment of twinning relations between the city of Quvasay (Ferghana region) and the city of Ruiyena (Latvia) took place. The document stipulates development of interregional partnerships in education, culture, entrepreneurship and sports.
The event was held as part of a meeting between the governor of Kuvasay, Ferghana region, Adham Ziyavitdinov, with a delegation of the municipality of Ruiyen, headed by Mayor Guntis Gladkins, who is visiting our country.
The negotiations also discussed the prospects for deepening contacts between peoples (people-to-people ties), including by increasing regional cooperation in the field of tourism, educational exchanges, production and technological cooperation.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Latvia, Ruyiena is famous for its special care for the historical and architectural heritage and high quality ice cream under the Rujiena brand, which is exported to the EU countries as well as to the USA.
