Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Production of electric vehicles will be launched in Qoqand in 2021.

The project is implemented by the Shaffof omadli sanoat, operating in the Qoqand Free Economic Zone.

The project is attended by the Chinese company Silk Road Company. The project cost is US$30 million. Foreign investment will be US$24 million.

Preliminary calculations showed that the estimated cost of this environmentally friendly mode of transport produced in Uzbekistan will be US$3,000. Electric vehicles are important in conditions of limited petroleum products.
