Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Boarding schools for visually impaired and blind children received 1,575 devices for writing in Braille on Wednesday.
The equipment was purchased under an agreement concluded between the Society of the Blind in Uzbekistan, the South Korean company FRIEDASIA and the All-Russian Society of the Blind. The South Korean company HYUNDAI ENGINEERING provided funds in the amount of 2.77 million rubles for the purchase of devices.
In April 2019, in boarding schools received the first batch of appliances - 725 units.
In total this year, boarding schools for visually impaired and blind children in Uzbekistan will receive 3,000 devices for writing in Braille with stylus.
In 14 schools for visually impaired and blind children operating in Uzbekistan, more than 2,830 people are studying. They taught by 823 teachers and 606 tutors.
