Particular attention in the field of education is given by KOICA to projects for the development of vocational training. In this regard, in 2012 a Tashkent vocational training center was put into operation, which as of today has released over 3,400 specialists in such fields as: Automobile repair and maintenance, Machinery-building, Electrotechnics & Electromechanics, Information-Communication Technologies, etc. Stable operations are maintained at Samarkand and Shahrisabz vocational training centers, which were built and commissioned with KOICA support in October 2016 and July 2018 respectively.
This final seminar was conducted with the purpose of reporting on the project’s performance results and to discuss the best practice of the VTC management. The seminar was also meant to help improve the operations and management of jointly established VTCs, as well as establish close cooperation between the VTC staff for experience exchange, and thus contribute to growth of future VTCs. The participants had fruitful discussions on enhancing the quality of vocational education, securing management expertise, as well as they learned the know-hows of Korean TVET models from the Project Management Consulting group of Korean experts.
Head of the Main Office of Employment of Kashkadarya region Akhmedov Sarvar congratulated the partners with successful completion of the project and emphasized the importance of maintaining sustainable operations, in order to provide the labor market with qualified technical workers.
Director of KOICA Uzbekistan Office Son Sung Il expressed a hope that this vocational training center will assist in technology transfer and training of highly skilled specialists, who will continue contributing to the development of Uzbekistan’s economy and industry.
