A regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Interior of the CIS Member States

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Interior of the CIS member states was successfully held today.

It was the 46th meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Commonwealth countries and it, as always, was held in a very warm, constructive atmosphere, in the spirit of mutual understanding.

The meeting was attended by delegations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Police of the Republic of Armenia, the ministries of internal affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The Council of Ministers of the Interior considered a wide range of issues. The agenda consisted of seven points.

Thus, the first issue on the agenda was called “On the priority issues of cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs and the police of the CIS member states and the implementation of interstate programs to fight crime”.

During the discussion on this issue, the meeting participants exchanged views on current and promising areas of increased cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs and the police of the Commonwealth countries.

The positive results of the implementation of interstate programs to combat crime, as well as ongoing joint preventive measures and special operations were noted. Priorities for practical cooperation in the fight against crime were identified.

On the second issue, a Council Decision was adopted, in accordance with which the Concept of Cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs and the Police of the Commonwealth States until 2030 was approved, the draft of which was previously initiated and developed by the Office for the Coordination of the Fight against Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes in the territory of the CIS states.

Following the consideration of the third issue, the Council decided to further elaborate, previously initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the draft Agreement on the interaction of the CIS member states on the issuance of certificates of return to persons subject to forced expulsion.

According to the fourth issue of the agenda, the Council approved initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan - the Unified procedure for conducting international controlled delivery at the request of the internal affairs bodies and the police of the Commonwealth states.

On the fifth issue, the Council adopted the Regulations for the implementation of comprehensive coordinated or joint operational and preventive measures by the Ministries of Internal Affairs and the police of the CIS member states.

This regulation, the introduction of which was initiated by the Bureau, will be used for legal regulation of the organization and conduct of the above-mentioned preventive measures, taking into account the peculiarities of the national legislations of the CIS states.

On the sixth issue, a Council Decision was signed on the termination of 11 previously adopted decisions of the Council, which, for one reason or another, have lost their relevance or duplicated the provisions of other documents.

In the framework of the Council meeting, other topical issues of cooperation in ensuring law and order and security on the territory of the Commonwealth states were also discussed.

The next meeting of the Council, on the proposal of the Head of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Osipyan Valery Razmikovich, was decided to be held in 2020 in the city of Yerevan.
