Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Expert Council of Buyuk Kelajak launched public hearings of the draft concept of the Strategy for the long-term development of Uzbekistan until 2035.
The document is available at uzbekistan2035.uz in Uzbek, Russian and English.
The strategy reflects four scenarios for the development of Uzbekistan until 2035:
1) evolutionary, which implies favourable external environment with unsuccessful implementation of reforms;
2) pessimistic, which implies negative external conjuncture and external crises with unsuccessful implementation of reforms;
3) dynamic, which implies that reforms are carried out with a favourable external environment and a significant amount of investment;
4) progressive, that is reforms are carried out in case of negative external conjuncture and external crises.
The draft concept assumes the development of the country in a dynamic scenario and is aimed at the entry of Uzbekistan among the 50 economically developed countries. It includes key areas such as reforming public administration, developing the economy and the social sphere, and supporting innovation and technology.
The economy plans to develop industry, services and agriculture. Special attention will be paid to increasing the initiative of entrepreneurs, providing them with financial resources. It is assumed that due to deep structural transformations in the economy under a dynamic development scenario, by 2035 the country’s gross domestic product will reach US$479 billion.
In the social sphere, it is proposed to pay attention to the development of human capital through the education system and the labor market, the formation of a new generation with advanced thinking. The solution will be questions of improving the quality of medical care for all segments of the population. Development will receive science and innovation.
Collecting comments will continue for 30 days. Following the processing of the results of the hearings, a concept will be prepared that will be presented to the leadership of Uzbekistan.
