Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Military personnel of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan this year will take part for the first time in tank biathlon competitions, which will be held as part of the V Army International Games (ARMI-2019).
It should be noted that the tank biathlon competition in Uzbekistan began to be held from 2018. Last year, the country’s first playground for tank biathlon events was built on the basis of the Chirchik training ground in the Tashkent military district. And on the eve of May 9, the Day of Memory and Honor, the first tank biathlon championship among the troops of the Ministry of Defense started in 2018.
If last year in the tank biathlon of the IV International Army Games, servicemen of the army of Uzbekistan participated as observers, from this year 4 tank crews (3 main and 1 reserve) will participate as full participants to fight for the championship.
Tank biathlon - applied competitions between tank crews in the art of driving a tank and firing accuracy from the main and additional weapons installed on the tanks. This competition is included in the program of the International Army Games and is quickly gaining popularity.
V Army International Games will be held in the territories of 10 countries - Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and Uzbekistan for the first time. Uzbekistan will hold on its territory the ARM-2019 Military Medical Relay. The organizers of the “Army Olympiad” previously have more than 6 thousand participants. Army international games will be held August 3-17.
At the preliminary qualifying stage among the troops of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, which was held in February-March of this year, the best 4 tank crews, each consisting of a tank commander, gunner operator and driver mechanic, were selected at the Chirchik training ground. Now these crews are undergoing intensive training at the Forish range of the Central Military District.
