Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, the total volume of production (services) of agriculture, forestry and fishery in Uzbekistan made up 20.31 trillion soums in January-March 2019, which is 2.5% higher compared to the same period of 2018, including in plant growing and animal husbandry, hunting and providing services in these areas - 18.81 trillion soums (+2.5%), forestry - 1.3 trillion soums (+1.8%), fisheries - 189.8 billion soums (+3.6%).
According to the State Statistics Committee, 92.7% of the total products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fishery fall to crop and livestock production, hunting and services rendered in these areas, 6.4% - forestry, 0.9% - fishery.
In January-March 2019, in terms of regions, significant volumes of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries were observed in Samarkand (2.79 trillion soums) and Tashkent (2.68 trillion soums) regions, while in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (689 billion soums), Syrdarya (723 billion soums) and Navoi (1.06 trillion soums) regions recorded the lowest volumes.
The highest growth rates were observed in Ferghana (+5.3%), Khorezm (+4.0%) and Andijan (+3.8%) regions. In contrast, in Syrdarya (+0.4%), Samarkand (+1.2%), Kashkadarya (+1.3%), Jizzakh (+1.3%), Tashkent (+2.0%) and Namangan (+2.1%) regions registered the lowest rates.
The share of Samarkand region in the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries of the republic was 13.7% and it is the leader among the regions. Tashkent and Kashkadarya regions occupy the next places with indicators of 13.2% and 8.5%, respectively.
The lowest share was registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.4%), Syrdarya (3.6%) and Navoi (5.2%) regions.
Agriculture Products
The growth of agricultural production in January - March 2019 amounted to 18.74 trillion soums, which is 3.1% more compared to the same period in 2018, including crop production reached 1.39 trillion. soums (+0.6%), livestock products - 17.35 trillion. soums (+3.4%)
Analysis by categories of farms showed that 87.8% of the total volume of agricultural production falls on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 7.9% on farms, 4.3% on organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
In the analysis of the distribution of shares of gross agricultural output by farm categories in the context of the territories, it was noted that the highest rates in all regions fall on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
According to the results of January-March 2019, a significant share of farms in the total gross output of agriculture was noted in Syrdarya region (13.6%), dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms of Khorezm region (94.8%), and the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activity recorded in Tashkent region (14.1%).
A low share of farms in total gross agricultural output was recorded in the Khorezm region (3.8%), dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms in the Tashkent region (78.3%), and the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activities belongs to Jizzakh region (1.2%).
The volume of crop production in January-March 2019 amounted to 1.39 trillion soums (+0.6%). The share of crop production in the total volume of agricultural production amounted to 7.4%.
Livestock
The volume of livestock production in January - March 2019 reached 17.35 trillion soums (+3.4%). In the total agricultural output, the share of livestock products was 92.6%.
In January - March 2019, all categories of farms produced milk 1.72 million tonnes (more by 2.5% compared with January - March 2018). Analyzing the data of milk production by categories of farms, it should be noted that 95.3% of the total milk production falls on the share of dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
In January - March of 2019, 1.3 billion eggs were received by all categories of farms (more by 5.5% compared with January - March 2018). In the course of the analysis of the indicators of eggs produced by the categories of farms, it was revealed that 53.7% of the total volume of eggs produced accounted for dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
In January - March 2019, all categories of farms caught fish 12 860 tonnes (more by 1.5% compared with January - March 2018). In the course of the analysis of indicators of captured fish by categories of farms, it was revealed that 61.5% of the total volume of captured fish fall to the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
Livestock and poultry
As of 1 April 2019, the total livestock of cattle reached 12.58 million heads, including 4.44 million heads of cows, 21.18 million heads of sheep and goats, and 78.21 million birds.
Compared with the corresponding period of 2018, in all categories of farms the livestock of cattle increased by 335,100 heads (by 2.7%), including cows - by 144,100 heads (by 3.4%) ), sheep and goats - by 754,100. heads (by 3.7%), birds - by 7.07 million heads (by 9.9%).
Analyzing data on the livestock of cattle by categories of farms as of 1 April 2019, it should be noted that 4.9% of cattle are farm households, 93.8% are dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 1.3 % - for organizations engaged in agricultural activities, respectively, of the total number of sheep and goats, farms account for 10.6%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms — 84.5%, organizations engaged in agricultural activities — 4.9% and also from the total birds on farms fall 12.8% on dekhkan (private land) farms - 62.8%, on the organization, carrying out agricultural activities - 24.4%.
