Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new checkpoint “Bobotog” began operating on the Uzbek-Tajik border from 1 March 2019.
According to the State Customs Committee, the checkpoint is located in the village of Bobotog, Uzun district, Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan. Tajikistan’s checkpoint “Hisor” was opened as well.
The commander of the border troops of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan Ruslan Mirzayev took part in the opening ceremony of the checkpoint.
It should be noted that an agreement on the opening of a new checkpoint was reached during the state visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon to Uzbekistan in August 2018.
Uzbekistan has sent about 300 million soums to build a checkpoint. The checkpoint is equipped with modern technology. Conditions have been created for border guards and employees of other departments, who will serve here.
