Uzbekistan studies experience of Malaysia in fish industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, large-scale work is being carried out in Uzbekistan to rapidly develop the fish industry, increasing its productivity by introducing modern and innovative methods.

In order to practically implement the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-4005 of 06.11.2018. “On additional measures for the further development of the fish industry”, Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia is actively working to attract specialized Malaysian companies to develop the fish industry of Uzbekistan.

The fish industry plays an important role in the development of the national economy of Malaysia. At the end of 2018, the share of agricultural industry in Malaysia’s GDP was about 5% (US$23.5 billion), in which the share of fish farming was 12% or US$2.8 billion (more than 2 million tons of fish and other seafood). ).

The largest volume of fish comes from offshore production and accounts for about 88% of the total production, the rest is fishery. In this industry, the number of workers is about 150 thousand people.

In order to introduce the leading Malaysian experience in the field of fish farming, our embassy in Malaysia held talks with one of the leading fish farming companies in the country, A Farm Agrotech Sdn Bhd.

A Farm Agrotech Sdn Bhd has a modern energy-efficient technology that ensures the effectiveness of the enterprise in the production of more than 10 species of fish and juveniles of the highest quality.

The company’s weekly fish production is over 10 tons. The company’s products are exported to China and the countries of Southeast Asia.

The innovative approach of the enterprise is the production of special fish food introduced in the enterprise, made from fruits and vegetables with the addition of the necessary minerals for the effective and rapid development and growth of fish.

In addition to production, A Farm Agrotech Sdn Bhd also offers training services in the creation of modern fisheries with relevant international standards.

During the negotiations, an agreement was reached on creating an intensive fish culture cluster specializing in integrated production (hatcheries, fish and fry production, fish food with high protein content, processing and storage) in the fish industry in Khorezm region.

On 24 January, it is planned to hold negotiations with local companies of the fish industry of the republic to discuss further plans for the implementation of this investment project during the upcoming Uzbek-Malaysian business forum during the visit of the delegation of Khorezm region to Malaysia.
