Leaders of France and Germany show interest in further deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Senate Nigmatilla Yuldashev took part in events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

 

Representatives of more than 100 countries of the world took part in the celebrations, of which 60 heads of state and government, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Russia, the USA, Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, as well as leaders of a number of international organizations, in particular, UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

The head of the delegation of Uzbekistan was invited to a gala dinner in honor of the heads of delegation at the level of heads of state and government on behalf of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.

During the event, organized in the famous d’Orsa Museum, brief talks were held with the leaders of a number of participating countries, including with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who welcomed the radical, deep and dynamic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.

Macron highly appreciated the results of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to France on 8-9 October and stressed that this visit was truly historic and breakthrough, allowing to bring bilateral relations to a qualitatively new development trajectory. “I warmly recall our recent meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and hope for the further deepening of our cooperation for the good of the peoples of our countries,” the French leader said.

The French leader expressed hope that all the agreements reached during the visit, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, will be implemented in the very near future and in full.

In accordance with the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Emmanuel Macron reiterated his readiness to visit Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, German Chancellor Angela Merkel noted that the German side is interested in further expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan and agreed that the upcoming visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Germany will lay a solid foundation for developing friendly relations between the countries and open a new page in bilateral relations.

“I look forward to the upcoming meeting with the leader of Uzbekistan in order to discuss the current state and prospects of our relations, as well as topical issues of an international and regional nature,” the Chancellor said.
