UZEX records deals for 5.87 trln. soums in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) recorded deals for 5.87 trillion soums in the first quarter of 2018, which rose by 78% compared to the same period of 2017.
In particular, the volume of exchange transactions doubled and reached to 5.5 trillion soums.
The exchange recorded growth of sale of mineral fertilizers by 11 times, diesel fuel – 10 times, ferrous metals – 5 times, polypropylene - 24% and polyethylene - 7%. In the structure of goods sold, a significant part of the market was occupied by chemical and petrochemical products - 21%, building materials - 18%, black and non-ferrous metal - 15%.
Enterprises-sellers received additional income due to the formation of real market prices at the exchange auctions in the amount of 918 billion soums.
Total volume of transactions concluded with the participation of small businesses and private entrepreneurship reached 2.9 trillion soums, which is 31% more than in the first quarter of 2017. At the same time, entrepreneurs purchased through commodity exchange commodity resources for 2.4 trillion soums and sold their own products for 510 billion soums.
During the reporting period, 7,100 deals were registered in the system of exhibition and fair trade for 308,1 billion soums. The largest share in procurement accounted for production of the chemical industry - 37%, metal products - 19% and construction materials - 7%.
The exchange’s hard currency trading platform and e-store registered export of goods for US$23.8 million, which grew by 22%.
