The commission said the number of mobile users rose by 41.2% or 2.427 million in five months of 2008. It added that only in May, the user’s number increased by 553,000 (7.1% up).

Currently, five mobile operators render services in Uzbekistan – MTS-Uzbekistan, Beeline, COSCOM (all three operators work under GSM standard), Perfectum Mobile and Uzmobile (both of them work on CDMA format.

MTS-Uzbekistan is the largest operator in terms of users. Currently, it serves over 4 million users.
