Uzstroymateriali enterprises produce goods for 1.036 trln. soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total production volume of the enterprises of Uzstroymaterialy (Uzbek Construction Materials) made up 1.036 trillion soums in 2011.

Narodnoye Slovo newspaper reported that Uzbekistan produced 6.7 million tonnes of cement, 124 million lists of roofing slates, 346 million units of construction glasses and 72 million units of wall materials in 2011.

The paper said that the enterprises of Uzstroymaterialy exported goods for US$65.6 million in 2011.

Last year, the industry started production of about 30 new products within the localization programme. They produced localized goods for 115.2 billion soums, and fulfilled forecast with 36.6% surplus.

The enterprises of Uzstroymaterialy decreased expenses for raw materials, materials, energy resources and other expenses, which will helped to decrease prime cost and save over 14.4 billion soums.

The paper said that Uzstroymaterialy continues to focus on modernization and re-equipment of capacities, attraction of new modern technologies.

So, the enterprises of industry carried out work on five projects in 2011 within the Programme on development of industry of Uzbekistan for 2011-2015. Some US$29.85 million were directed to implementation of the project.

Two projects were completed. One of them was directed at production of gypsum boards at Knauf Gips Bukhara in Kagan (Bukhara region). The capacity of the plant is 20 million square meters of gypsum boards a year.

The second project is directed at modernization of equipment of Kyzylkumcement OJSC, which is the largest cement producer of Uzbekistan. The work on another project at Bekabadcement OJSC is continuing. The paper said that the plant is building new line on cement production.

Over US$58.67 million were directed at modernization of capacities on production of construction materials in 2011. At the same time, the industry attracted US$25 million of foreign investments and loans.

Foreign investments allow to modernize existing capacities and launch new ones, the paper said. It added that new enterprises, such as And-Polic (production of aluminum and plastic composition panels), Munjal-Shifer (roofing slates), Panelplast (sandwich panels), Moderna Ceramic Industries (ceramic plates), are operating in Uzbekistan. These and other enterprises with foreign investments produced 578.2 billion soums in 2011.
