Uzbekistan directs 3.7bn soums to tourism development in Namangan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistn approved a programme of targeted measures on developing tourism and increasing export potential of tourism service in Namangan region for 2011-2012.

Uzbektourism national company said that the programme will help to increase number of rooms at regional hotels.

The programme stipulates expansion of S-Namangan Hotel by 50 rooms, Turkistan Hotel by 40 rooms, Istiqlol Hotel by 20 rooms. It is also planned to reconstruct Saydana Hotel, which is designed for 20 rooms.

In mountainous districts of Nanay, Kosonsoy and Chust, it is planned to create recreation camps and rest zones for attracting tourists to the region.

According to the programme, 280 million will be directed to reconstruction of historic complexes “Hoja Amin Kabri”, Otavalihon Tura mosque, Mulla Qirgiz madrasah, which will help to preserve them.

Overall, the programme budget makes up 3.7 billion soums.
